Following an accomplished military career as a pilot in the UK Armed Forces, Ian has spent many years involved in complex Logistics and Operations in Africa and the Middle East.
Having worked on many aspects of, both, business development and project delivery in mining, energy, agriculture and aviation, he has a deep understanding of Africa’s need for sustainable and locally empowered programmes.

Charlie currently CEO of a group of companies including Zaffir Ltd., Terravision Exploration Ltd. and African Development Partners Ltd. Companies that utilise a vast network of enablers to develop projects in their early, high risk stages.

He was formerly CEO of Georadar Services Ltd., an exploration and investment consultancy.

He is an alumni of the International Space University, Strasbourg.

He has BSc in Mathematics from Edinburgh University.

He subsequently graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served for 11 years as an Officer in the British Military.
