DESCRIPTION

All responsibilities are presumed to reflect the effective implementation of best practices. Technology will be leveraged as an enabler whenever practical. Internal controls will be installed to ensure that all activities comply with acknowledged standards of fiduciary due care, non-conflicts of interest and confidentiality. The Online Teaching Faculty reports to the Dean or Program Chair. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver instruction for all assigned classes;
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students;
  • Provide timely feedback and support to facilitate student academic success;
  • Follow the Instructional Quality Review (IQR) expectations;
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement efforts for the program;
  • Abide by FERPA regulations;
  • Abide by protocol set forth in University’s Faculty Guidelines and Teaching Expectations;
  • Evaluate and assign grades to students;
  • Submit requested information with strict adherence to established timelines;
  • As a scholar-practitioner, relate professional/life/industry experience to learning by the continuation of professional skill development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities;
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles and views; and
  • Utilize Canvas Learning Management System, administer the course by logging into the course, review and participate in the discussion posts daily, and complete all grading of the discussion posts and assignments within one week of the due date of the assignment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • An earned master’s or terminal degree in a relevant field of study from a regionally accredited university;
  • At least three years of teaching experience at a university level;
  • At least ten years of professional experience in the field of sustainability;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Experienced using Canvas, Zoom, and other educational technology.
